***  New and exciting: Zouk & Samba Intensives! ***

A new way of learning these beautiful dances in a short period of time. Famous (inter)national Zouk and Samba artists will teach at different levels for everybody, including musical interpretation and acrobatics – in only five days in a row.

Courses will be given by Dirk Honingh from the Netherlands & Ruanita Santos from Brasil and David Bosco & Sarah Palhares from Spain.

The teachers
Dirk Honingh & Ruanita Santos: Neo-Zouk
As the name reveals, Neo-Zouk is a new generation zouk within the traditional Brasilian zouk dance, which mainly is characterized by its fluency and interpretation of the music.

David Bosco & Sarah Palhares: Samba de gafieira (Samsurfe) and Samba de pé
Samsurfe is a unique, innovative dance style created by David Bosco, which distinguishes from his master, Jimmy de Oliveira with a prominent feature by merging Samba de Gafeira with surfing movements on shoes with wheels. Samsurfe style is funky with a bit of “malandro” flavor, and mostly danced on samba and soul music.

Neo-Zouk
What is Neo-Zouk?
A style of zouk’s main objective is to show different trends in zouk, where the gentleman uses his lady as the inspiration to lead his dance exploring each joint to define each move. The difference between drive and answer is in the direction in which the motion occurs, because the times when the gentleman induces the lady to a different path, continuing the movement, and the exact translation Neo-zouk metric of the conversation between bodies and music, where the gentleman and the lady communicate through connection of a body - feeling. Each body has its design, so unlimited, each dance has the same feature, but with a different contour, so new. Neo-zouk and the set of technical, aesthetic, freedom and agility, allows the dancers to keep your personality by following only a concept, a same direction.

What is the philosophy of Neo-Zouk?
If you permit the Neo-zouk uses the tools of the counterweight, connections, positioning of body axes, to lead the lady. The gentleman uses these elements from the lady and vice versa, pro movement happen. These characteristics strengthen Neozouk, thus freedom of creation.

What are the main features of Neo-Zouk?

The conduction based on multiple connections and lines, but not limited to conduction only with hands and arms. The movements are unconventional and don't follow a pattern: it can be line or circular, continuous or broken, spins counter weight or out of the straight shaft where it could happen with the movements opposing forces. Pendulums, high and low levels. Improvisation!

The party
We’ll have a smashing party with the teachers and DJ Shing. La Grande Zouk Party will be held Friday November 18 2011, 22:00 – 2:30 uur. Location: Dutch studio’s (same as the lessons). Be there!

The Intensives
An Intensive consists of five consecutive classes from 1,5 hour each. Choose from:
- Neo-Zouk Beginners / Musicality: 90 Euro per person
- Neo-Zouk Intermediate: 100 Euro per person
- Samsurfe Beginners + Musicality + Styling: 90 Euro per person
- Samsurfe Intermediate + Samba de pé I + II: 100 Euro per person
